In the evening, members of the Bangladesh community in Brunei joined the programme, commencing with special prayers. Chairing the programme was the High Commissioner of Bangladesh to Brunei Darussalam, M Shameem Ahsan. He paid glowing tributes to Bangabandhu for his unique contributions in shaping the destiny of the Bangla people and The National Children's Day was also reflected in a cultural dance choreographed and chaperoned by Mdm Momtaz Ahsan, wife of the High Commissioner. Beautifully dressed children from the Bangladesh community performed patriotic songs and modern, traditional dances which enthralled the audience.
